  • 1BadMoFo is Back!!

I sold my car back in 2008 and would email the buyer every couple of years reminding him that if he ever wanted to sell it to contact me first...well this time he said yes! He said he hadn't driven it in over a year and needs some transmission work as the syncros are out. He put a cowl induction hood on it, different rims, and painted the back end but other than that it was the same except extremely dirty. It was down in North Carolina so I had a guy pick it up Thursday of last week, and he delivered it the next day! I already put a new battery in it and drove it back to barn to start cleaning it. The rims aren't bad, but I'm going to try and find the ones that I had on there, and he still had the SS hood so I'll be putting that back on there. There is a small rub/tear on the drivers seat and a small spot on the spoiler where the clear coat is flaking away. I used to be very active on this site and others and of course car shows and the WMCC group, and I'm looking forward to doing all that again. If someone can recommend a shop to fix the tranny, that would be great! Here are some pics of what it looked like back in the day. Scott

Awesome you got the car back! I second these guys. Liberty, RPM or Detroit Gearbox would be the only ones id go to. LOTS of horror stories taking T56s to joe schmo trans shops.

Yup, my dad told me the same thing. At least it is back and still in really good shape, just dirty and the tranny issue. I spent about 3 hours trying to find my old rims, no luck at all. I don't think they've been made in years. They were 18 x 9 Cragar SS, 230 series with a +32mm off set. They are pretty close to the Bullet replica's but they have one big smooth lip, not the stepped lip.

Here is the hood. Please note though, I had already mentioned it to my best friend and I think he is interested in it so I'll have to let him decide first.

Now that Scott has 1BadMoFo back, it has inspired me to get busy with project DTZ28...Been accumulating some parts and as of last weekend, parts are being installed. 1BadMoFo needs a little elbow grease and some tranny work, but still starts and sounds AMAZING. Can't wait to get back involved, as well.

A couple of years ago, I was moments away from selling the Z...deal was done, guy was on his way with cash in hand...I just got this sick feeling in my stomach and got all emotional about it...thank GOD my wife and even my kids talked me out of it and I turned the guy away at the door. Now....I have a new intake, new throttle body, new LT headers with stainless true duals, new seats, window motors, etc all to get installed prior to cruisin' weather. Finished getting the headers on last weekend, this weekend will be the duals...

I resent that implication....I dont even have a trans shop.....
