Hello Everyone!
A little about myself, I am 17. I have a very strong interest in classic cars. When I was 14, I convinced my dad to buy the 1970 1/2 Camaro shell that was sitting my my neighbors back yard. It was a complete shell, no interior, motor, or transmission. This is the car that started my love for american muscle. From then on I knew I wanted a camaro as my first car. Thankfully this happened, but it didn't go the way I would have liked.
I ended up going half and half with my parents on a 1991 Camaro 3.1l. At the time this car checked off everything on my list. We drove it home from Toledo and I began prepping the body for paint. It took me 2 months to get the job right, and in the end I was happy. My dad use to paint cars 20 years ago, but when he painted mine the gun failed. We had runs everywhere. To top it all off, my dad tried wet-sanding and buffing it out. Not only did he bleed though, he also burnt a good amount of paint. In the end, it turned out alright. I kept the car super clean and was very thankful for him painting it.
At the end of September I was driving down telegraph though Monroe. I was in the left lane and about 4 car lengths back from the Jeep in front of me. All of a sudden the Jeep slammed on his brakes and I hit mine. They locked up and I collided with the back of his car. To give you an idea how hard he hit is brakes, he was only 2 inches away from hitting the car in-front of him.
The next day I called a couple from Ida that I had met at a car show in Flat Rock. They owned a 1992 Camaro RS 5.0 TBI w/ a t5. It was a project that the husband did not yet get to. The car was very clean inside and out and I have not found a speck of rust on the car or underneath it. Not to bad for a 180k car. The PO bought the car from an estate sale a few years back, he believed that the owner was the original owner of the car. We shook hands on a number and we I drove it home.
Now the plan is to repaint the 91' completely red, and take the nice grey interior out of it. I prefer the grey interior to the red. From there I will swap the red interior from the 92' into the 91' and sell it. I don't know what I will be asking yet, will probably be based off the prices for the spring. After I sell the 91', that money will go towards the 92'. I picked up a 87' iroc rear end from my buddy, shorty headers, cross over pipe, and some hotchkis goodies. On top of that I also bought a set of 2 inch spacers (good deal couldn't pass it up) for the C5 Corvette wheels my twin Joshua cant use (He is restoring a 78' Corvette).
So that is my story on the two cars I own. As for the summer, I love going to all the different car shows in my area. Since I live between Woodhaven and Monroe I switch back and forth. I even made it up to Camaro Superfest this year.
Happy to be on the board guys!
