ive never had one to compare but yes, it felt like it should've been quicker. Before the knock came
about it was 35 psi cold and 20ish when warmed up. I was being dumb and doing doughnuts in first gear but not thinking about up shifting... Stupid me

That's really low. Granted, it's been forever since I've driven mine but I want to say warm was about 40psi or so. The gauge actually works in the 98s too.

I'd drain the oil into a clean drip pan and see if it's shiny.

Bad ad pump maybe? I would but I don't have the resources or time with summer classes. It's sitting at my family mechanics shop. Maybe just rebuild it or drop a new motor in if I can get some help finding one.

Pics or video would help out a lot.

All internet clunks, bangs, knocks sound the same with out audio proof

Did you just purchase the car? If so from where? One local to me that looked just like it was for sale which is why I am asking.
