The wiring end of it went well. IMHO I did it as clean as GM did on the LS1 cars. But I have my doubts about the grounds. I followed the directions to a TEE, but we will see. We got the pig tails for the coils, cam, and crank sensors from BP automotive with both ends terminated, worked out great. As far as LT1 motors go, im going for the same goal with my SS that you are. My Camaro is strictly a daily driver street car, so when old reliable pops, its going to be mild. Eric L

Mine will never be a DD but it will make road trips so reliability is definitely a factor.

AI 226/234 stock heads with cleaned bowls, milled .020, no porting. On paper it should have 11.6:1 compression and it did make 373rwhp/350rwtq. Runs anywhere from 12.5 to 13.1 at ~110mph depending on conditions.

My plan for the Camaro is to do a stock(ish) rebuild on the bottom end, with some factory ported heads and a cam REAL similar to yours. What are your shift points/peak hp/peak tq? Thanks, Eric L

My limiter is set at 6400 and i dont think ive hit it. Heads would probably change that. Im guessing i shift 6200-6300 rpm. I originally left the stock 5850 limiter and it was hitting that like a dog on a short leash. Highly recommend the AI cam, it does everything well. Even got 26 mpg at 80mph going to st ignace.

Thats why i havent wanted to mess with it, i absolutely love the power curve. If it hooks up at low rpm full throttle it usually stays hooked all the way through, which is great for cornering.

That's what ive always liked about my SS. Ive whooped on quite a few faster cars on the street from a dig just because I hook, and they typically don't have enough time to chase me down, lol. Eric L

Yeah. I gotta admit I kinda missed this place, lol. Much more personal atmosphere than most other forums. I'm hoping to spend a lot of time at the track this spring and summer wringing out the new combo in the valiant. It's proven itself to be very street able, now we will see how fast it is. Eric L
