  • New guy from across Lake Michigan

Hey guys. My name is Mike and I'm from Janesville, WI (about an hour and a half southwest of Milwaukee). I run a small body shop from home during nice weather. Until last Saturday I was a Nissan tech (found a better job). Since 04 I've made the trip every August for the Dream Cruise. Other than the occasional snowmobile trip to the UP, I don't make it to Michigan that much. I have a couple Camaros in my stable.
This is my 81 Z. Before and now. Its been off the road since 08. It's my first car, I've had it since I was 18 (I'm 32 now). It goes to a friends chassis shop next month for a cage and a fabbed 9". When it gets back I can install the 598 BB/TH400, and finish the body and interior.

This is my 78 Sport Coupe. Its a base 305 2-bbl/TH350 car. Stone stock except for hood, fenders, and rims. I bought it as a parts car but had a change in heart. It runs and drives but still needs a lot.

And this is the 93 Z. Purple Pearl Metallic with 84k on the body. It was originally an LT1/6-spd car. I'm converting it to LS/4L60E power. The wife will be driving this one. We are just debating on what we want to do for forced induction.

I have a couple other non-f body projects .. a 69 BelAir and a Ranchero that I will probably flip ... and my DD is a 97 V-6/5-spd Mustang .. so yeah. I try to stay busy. Hopefully I can get something done soon and I can make it out your direction more.

Welcome! Nice 2nd Gen Z28 you have. My son has been into 2nd Gen Camaros since he was 16 and that was 17 years ago. He has plenty of parts if you may need some.

Your son has good taste .. lol. As it is, I have enough parts here to build 2 cars, but I'm always looking for stuff. I think the rafters in the garage are starting to bow a little. I'll keep you in mind, thank you.

          Thanks for the welcomes guys

Cool a former cheese head .. lol. Ripon still quite a drive for me. I'm all the way down by Beloit, close to the Illinois border.

I wished mine looked as clean as yours. Plan on painting it in spring after the engine/trans install. Its pretty faded and has some key scratches.

Nice! Yeah, I love that we have a Quaker Steak now. I hated having to travel to Madison everything I wanted to eat at a gearhead themed restaurant. Its bad enough I work in Madison .. lol.
