  • 1995 impala engine

Well I have bought a Impala 1995 lt1 engine and I have 1999 Camaro v6 and I know I mess up but I don't want to sell the motor. IM stuck at the wiring harness and don't know what to do but I have the Impala wiring harness but it's not matching up so what could I do.

You've created quite the predicament for yourself. 5.7L or 4.3L? If it is the 4.3L, sell it and forget the idea...the only gains you will get is a better exhaust note and 20 more ft-lb of torque. The 3.8 is a MUCH better engine overall.

But, if you insist on doing this, you'll need a 93-97 LT1 cradle and engine mounts, pinout diagrams of both the 95 Impala and the 99 Camaro. Don't expect all your gauges to work. V6 springs won't handle the added weight well.

Yikes, thats a mess. Having done a swap or two. Dont. Especially crossing the LS / LT barrier. Thats gonna be a nightmare of a wiring project and you will never get your gauges to work right. Not with that cluster anyway.

May have to swap to a 97 cluster. Starting in 99, the entire gauge cluster is fed by the serial data buss. Ie, one wire from the PCM. Only LS car PCM's can do this if I understand correctly.

Also, being 95, that LT1 is going to have all the OBD1 sensors on it, so you are going to have fun wiring that to and OBD2 car. I would get a 94-97 LT1 camaro engine harness, put that on the motor you have, then start matching it up the the 99 v6 harness. Should be a good time

Will for sure need a new trans, k member, and several other goodies. LT1's also operate at a lower fuel pressure, so your gonna have to drop the 58psi from the tank down to 40 something for the LT1 motor.

      Plus a million other things.

      Good luck.....

To solve the gauge predicament, you could always do the 24x conversion on the LT1, which eliminates the Optispark and switches over to an LSx PCM. . . Not sure if you're really interested in spending $1500-$2000+ just to save yourself the hassle of messing with the gauges though.

        Just an idea.
