  • SOM M6 WS6 from Ann Arbor

    Hello everyone!

My names Thomas, I'm from the Ann Arbor area and I just recently picked up my second f-body. Back in 08-09 I had a 1994 Firebird Formula that I loved dearly, but eventually parted with it.

Just recently, while shopping for a C5 Vette.... I determined that instead of a car to 'flip' - I should find something I've wanted for a long, long time and hold on to it as long as possible. And the search for the perfect Sunset Orange Metallic WS6 began. I had a couple additional requirements... must be 6-speed and must be very well taken care of. While perusing through LS1Tech, eBay, local Craigslist ads and a few other venues... I came across a beautiful SOM WS6 with plenty of grunt and ONLY 19,644 miles! It was pretty much 'built', with a Hurst 6-speed and the curb appeal of a Greek supermodel. Initially, we were a long ways apart with price, but after some discussion we were able to work something out that benefited each of us.

No more then a week later, I was flying to Atlanta with a buddy to pick up the car of my dreams. I worked my Saturday shift (I sell Ford's at Gene Butman Ford in Ypsilanti ) and then drove straight to DTW to board my flight. We arrived in ATL around 10, and were back on the road shortly before midnight. With a few fill-ups, being pulled over once and lots of dumbasses trying to race me - we made it home safely.

Anyway, enough of the boring story... this past Tuesday I had the day off and wound up in Detroit. I stopped by Comerica Park to take some photos. The car wasn't very clean, but I couldnt wait to share it with all of you! I'll eventually have a photoshoot done, along with an extensive video that will most likely end up on Winding Road's YouTube channel. Let the photos commence!

I've already ordered/changed a few parts on the car (like reinstalling the original Hurst shifter, one in photos is FS btw ) and cant wait to keep personalizing it my liking.

Thanks for checking out my thread! I'm looking forward to being active at nearby meets and meeting many of you. In the future... if you see a similar car, you'll know it's me because I'll have the custom plate of 'SUNNYTA' - should be here any day now.

One of my favorite colors on ANY car, period. Very nice purchase. I drove to and from New York for my SS (just sold it today though). Looking forward to seeing this rare car on woodward.

What's the button on the shifter for? Nitrous?

I'm really curious how much lower from his asking price you got because frankly I would have given him every penny of the $16.5k he had listed
Glad you made it over here. I'll be waiting in the wings to buy it from you one day

Welcome to the site! Gorgeous car! Love the mods that are done to it (and that you put the original hurst shifter back on ). What brand intake is that? It's kind of funny how it has the 3 "fins" kind of like an LT1 intake.
