  • Hello from Davison

Hey guys my name is matt i'm 24, just bought my first play car back in oct 12 its a black 2000 ls1 Trans am t-tops and tan interior. i bought the car cus i've always loved trans am. And i needed a better mpg car to drive to sterling heights for work everyday... now some would say i'm crazy to drive a v-8 cus it gets better gas milage but like we all know if the pedal isnt to the floor we can get 25mpg.

after finding a steel of a deal i decided that this is going to become my play car and i'll get something smaller later.

Thanks i tryed. Its been awhile. As for right now the only mods on the car area slp air lid, headlight and fog lights have been converted to hids and.blacked out the side lens. I have a set of ss headers sitting in the garage waiting to be put on, and a set of tsp true duals with sweet thunder mufflers.
Future plans are 3.73 gears, mild cam, 2500 stall, and some up graded wheels just trying to find the perfect ones i want.

Ditch the 2500 stall, thats baby for an LS, 3600 is a good starting point

haha thanks kyle! lots of good stuff on here.

with the 3600 stall is it gonna lock up and the over drive kick in when setting the cruse at 70 and the rpm sit at about 1200? i'd like to keep the mpg the same driving 58 miles to work.

Brett, i'm at SSP in dept 3610 on 2nd shift

Figuring out what converter you need is extremely simple...

                            Put it on a dyno.

See what RPM your max torque is at.

                            Subtract zero to 500 RPM.

                            There it is...

Wouldn't almost everyone's torque converters need to be 5500-6000 stalls then?
