  • Greetings from Mid-Michigan...

    Hi everyone,
    My name's Brad.
I live in the Flint Mid-Michigan Area.
I'm joining this forum because I can always use the networking

I bought my first [1998] Pontiac Firebird [3.8 V6] in Summer of 2011.
    Some of the options included:
    Navy Blue Metallic exterior
    T-tops
    Grey Cloth Interior
    Alarm system
Y97 3800 GT engine (replaced engine, still have original. Long story...)
    M30 4L60E trans
    G80 Posi/limited slip [locking] rear
    3.42 gear ratio
    <img id="vbattach_44386" class="previewthumb" alt="" src="http://www.mifbody.com/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=44386&amp;stc=1" attachmentid="44386"><br>
    <br>
This week I purchased an additional 1998 Navy Blue Metallic Pontiac Firebird only this time I opted for Performance.
Formula 5.7 LS1 Cold air intake (washable filter)
    Hard top
    G80 Axle
    Hypertech Power Programmer 3
Rebuilt/upgraded 4 speed automatic transmission (600HP, shift kit, plumbing, etc) with warranty and receipts.
I paid nearly half what I paid for the V6 Firebird because of:
    1. Car slipped on black ice and went into a ditch backwards at highway speeds (limited slip)(I have the records/etc) and thus:
    2. Crappy body work (bondo cracked) and paint job (never clearcoated it).
    3. Previous owner had some negative equity/etc and traded his WS6 style hood, wheels, front fender ($75), and [i think] rear quarter panel speakers.
    4. Various small-fry issues that I'm a little used to dealing with, from window motors to suspension upgrades.
The car has no frame/chassis damage that I can see, possibly due to the subframe connectors, and misc chassis support, but the windshield is cracked in half...
I already have the basecoat, primers, clearcoat(s). I also have the HVLP guns.

I am hoping to keep both cars long enough to transfer all the 'goodies' from the V6 Bird over to the Formula...
Maybe somebody knows of a place that can do an engine rebuild or other work...
I'll post a separate thread about this project later.
