  • Hello from Port Huron!

Hello, I have a 1998 Camaro V6 5spd. I enjoy working on it when I can, and intend to build a new motor for it this winter. Now I have a 5.3 ls1 based short block in the basement if somebody wants to trade for a 3.8 block and maybe heads!

    Correct me if I'm wrong but a 5.3 isn't an LS1...

yea it is the same block and everything, just a smaller bore (and some are iron, some are aluminum I believe it just depends on the year truck they came out of)

Its a Gen 3 LS based motor. Same thing with a smaller bore and different heads. Plus they love boost

Thanks everyone, yes it is a smaller bore iron block ls based motor. was going to put it in the car but it became no fun anymore. A 3.8 built good will do for me! The camaro is red.
