  • New guy here

Hey everyone, its taken me a while to post here, but I just moved up from Georgia in February and want to get involved in the local scene. I'm currently working for GM out at the Proving Grounds in Milford and I live in Ann Arbor. I'm going to try and meet up with other people from the site that are going to Woodward tomorrow, so maybe I'll see you there.

Welcome! I'm Ben. So you will give us a tour of the proving grounds on the proper date right? That date being the release date of the 2009 Camaro.

Hey folks, thanks for the compliments. Here's some pictures of both cars.

The 94 has recently seen a few changes, mainly ZR1 wheels as opposed to those crappy ass salad shooters. What was going on in the person's head that designed those anyway? The LT1 car was my daily driver for three years and now its going to be my project car. I'd like to have a solid 12 second car by next year, but that's going to take some clever budgeting. The 01 car was bought with the intention of it being a daily driver but seeing as how I haven't driven my own cars in over 3 months, its been more of a daily sitter.

I had both cars at Milan last week. The SS ran a VERY traction limited 13.2 @ 110 which I was happy with. The 94, I guess its OK. 14.1 @ 100. But I guess that's what its a project, right?

What can I say, working at the Proving Grounds is a dream come true and made all the hell I went through as an engineering student worth it. I ended up getting the assignment I wanted as an engineer in the small block car team, so that's just icing on the cake.

Shiftin, got your PM. I'll answer up tomorrow if that's cool.

Ah, welcome, finally another GMer! Name is Will. I used to be in 70, where the truck fuel system validation used to be. I'm at Warren Tech Center now. Hmmm, those look like Signature Club Apts. I used to live there. Welcome to the site and have fun.

Wow, good call Will. Not a bad place to live, but the rent is a bit much. Hey, that's Ann Arbor though, right?

Are you on the platform side or powertrain? Or something else?
