  • New to MI Fbody

    ello:

I am new to the MI Fbody association and thought I would introduce myself. I have owned a lot of Camaros and Firebirds over the years. Most unfotunately ended up as circle track stock cars. A few were driven on the street. Now, I have a 2002 normally aspirated 3800 and 4L60E tranny to match to go into a street rod.

I am looking at what everyone else is doing with their cars and engines, so that I get some ideas before proceeding with my project.

As some background on me; I built the frames used in the F body cars while working at Checker Motors in Kalamazoo. I was a die setter in a plastics company; an electronics technician in the Marine Corps; a multi year, multi track, stock car track champion; and an Information Technology Manger.

I know a little about a lot, but do not profess to be an expert at anything. I still dabble in stock car racing as a crew chief for other teams, and love building things. As such, my focus is now on Street Rods, and I love the 3800 V6 so much I decided to get away from the V8 and try something different.

Welcome to MiFBody.com! That's a pretty impressive resume - and thank you for your service to the US! Did you celebrate the birthday of the Corps earlier this month?

Normally the first thing we do around here is to harangue the new folks for pictures of their ride(s), but not sure how sexy a 3800 with 4L60E would be in a pic!

My own ride is a 3800, so there definitely no dissing of sixers coming out of me!

Can you post up some pics of your past rides? Sounds like you may have had a number of interesting ones through the years!
