Hey guys. Never heard of this site until a couple of minutes ago. Glad to join, and looks like a great website. Just sold some parts to a guy who told me about this site, and I will be putting that money to great use....going autocrossing this Sunday at Belle Isle. Maybe I will meet more of you guys there?
Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.

For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day, you shall have a track day, a Sabbath of competing, to time the FIREBIRD; whoever does any work on it shall be put in last place.

its not in the greatest of shape right now. I had a pewter v6 firebird, but that got into an accident. So I bought the one I drive now from Louisiana for $1000, but didnt have a running engine. So I swapped engines, and then about a month or two after the swap, my transmission died. ( i think i may have blown a seal somewhere inside). So instead of getting another automatic, I bought the 5 speed manual transmission and swapped that out with the auto. I bought an aluminum flywheel, b&m short shifter and a stage 3 clutch (because I plan on autocrossing and taking it to track days regularly). The car is a blue firebird, silver rims, and no ground effects ( I dont want the added weight ). Front bumper and hood is beat up so nothing glorious enough for pictures yet.

No not yet with the SCCA. I've been fixing my car pretty much all year. Although I have run at the GM plant when the corvette club had an autocross there. I am part of a collegiate design series called Formula SAE, if anyone here has ever heard of them. We build small open wheel racecars and we were testing our car at the GM plant.
