    2001 Firebird Rear Transmission Seal

    Hi...

    I've got a 2001 Firebird with a v6 and a leaking rear transmission seal. The shop is telling me that it's $200, $250 with a fluid change. The part is $5 and I'm trying to figure out the catch. I've changed them before in my '67 Thunderbird and i was a piece of cake so I'm trying to understand what is different in the Firebird. Has anyone had any experience in replacing them?

    Never did one on a bird, but I would imagine pull the driveshaft, pop seal, replace... Not sure why they would drain all the fluid out, you won't lose much..
