Chris welcome to the site, nice ride. Something to think about, when your cruising down the street and chicks turn their heads at your good looking camaro they have know idea how fast or slow it is. I bought Brians for him when he turned 16, 7 years ago, he modded it with appearance mods before doing the v8 finally 1 1/2 years ago. My advice is do the simple bolt on stuff like magnaflow exhaust, headers and cold air intake. You then will have "the look and sound", don't get caught up in the speed craze and HP race enjoy what you have a clean sharp car, wheels would set it off also. Insurance is cheaper for v6. Even with an LT1 or LS1 swap there always will be someone there to smoke your ass off the line!

The first thing that helps most any engine is to free up the intake and exhaust. So, a CAI (cold air intake setup) with a low restriction air filter, combined with a free flowing cat-back exhaust (headers too, it they are in the budget) will get you the most out of what you already ahve. If there's a computer tune available for that engine, that will help too, but without getting into the internals of the engine, that's about it for low cost mods.
I'm going with this idea. Best thing that's relatively cheap (?) is a better breathing exhaust and a CAI (Cold Air Induction) to lower the temp of the incoming air and it also improves the volume. Before I went crazy with mine, this is where I started and it was a noticeable improvement and didn't really cost too much. There are CAI systems out there that you can use, or run to the local autozone and design one from their tubing, which is even cheaper. Between the two, I believe I spent a total of roughly $300.

Unfortunately, I won't have numbers on my 3800 build until August, so I can't tell you what a 3.8 buildup will give you (n/a). By the way, welcome to the site!

True words, it works the same as in life. It's all paper/rock/scissors!

Perhaps this ad on the national forum would help. $25 isn't a bad deal at all for the airbox, should you be able to make it work with your car. Apologies, should this be stock. Not too familiar with what the 3.4L has for intake.
