Hey all. I figured I had better make a post introducing myself, if for no other reason than to get rid of the banner at the top of the site telling me to. Anyway, the name's Brian. My car is a 1998 Firebird 3.8L 5spd.
My previous car was a 2001 Ford Focus S2. Nothing great as far as style goes there, but it was solid, had great handling and was very fuel efficient. One day I was driving down the road and some dumb b**** decided that she wanted to pull out right into the side of my car. Totalled. I began looking around for a replacement vehicle. After about a week of searching, I had come up empty handed. Then, JoeliusZ28 (my college roomate last year) mentioned f-bodies to me. For some reason, I had not thought of this. Within 5 minutes (thank god for the internet) I had located the car I now own. A 98 firebird with only 50k miles. And it had been stored winters. And it had a 3.8 (gotta love the reliability). And it had a 5spd (which I wanted). Seemed like i couldn't lose. Ended up paying around $6200 for it. Long story short, I went from a Ford Focus to a Firebird (with lower mileage too) and came out ahead. Crazy. I have had the car now for a little bit more than a month and I love it.

Great to have another (Part time) West sider on board!
