    Hello F-body folks,

I'm glad to see that there are a lot of f-body folks who wanna help one another out. I'm an old Vietnam vet and I want to take a ride across the country with my wife so she can catch up a little with me on visiting some interesting places where she hasn't been. I've been tired of not being able to fix things on these new cars and wanted to travel in a vehicle that I could work on myself if it brakes down. I needed a package with a high overdrive gear and small v8 which is more durable than something smaller. I used to drive an 86 camaro that never broke down even though I pounded it pretty hard. Ended up buying an 87 trans am with no rust and 97000 mi. on it. Doesn't need much work but have had problems with a shake at 65 and over. Spent over $700 at a car muscle shop to fix it and still have a shake. I've talked about it a lot on 3rd generation web. I've had it for about six months now. Just purchased some used alloy wheels that I think will take care of the problem.l Won't get them for 6 or 7 days from now. I've been trying to find original decals for the car, especially the nose bird, but everyone wants you to buy the whole kit which I really don't need. This mich. assoc. looks real nice. I'm up here in Morley, but grew up in Lansing where I want to go back to and reflect a little. I'll be reading and watching the association,

    Take care everyone

Thanks for your service! I'm currently in the Army over in Korea. I don't think Americans in general show enough appreciation and respect to our Vets.

The new rims may help with your shaking problem, I would also check that your driveshaft is still balanced, I had a problem with my Camaro's driveshaft, turned out the carrier bearing was bad, causing a MAJOR vibration at speeds above 35mph. Replaced the driveshaft, problem solved! Good luck, and please post pictures of that 'bird! Welcome to MIFBody, it's truly an addiction!

Welcome to the site and thank you!

I second the driveshaft balance problem. Mine would vibrate from like 40mph to 70mph as I recall
