hey guys i got a 1978 RS, its a budget build project and lucky for me my uncle has some good stuff for me to start with, 350 4 bolt main, bored .030, its been hot tanked, decked, etc ready to build, i have a cast iron crank, forged pistons and h beam rods 5.7 inch 9.5:1 compression and a choice of heads either z28 heads 1.8 intake and 1.60 exhaust, or world products 2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust, however if i use the 202s i need to machine the pistons for valve clearance i think the cam is 525 or 540 i cant remember, i am leaning toward using the 2.02s so im thinkin about buying a new th400 from b&m and selling the z28 heads and old trans, it has a th350 but i would need to rebuild it and i'd rather have the 400 because i want to build up the motor in the future
let me know what you guys think, oh and if anyone is interested in the z28 heads send me a message and when i get a chance i'll get you the casting numbers and full details on the valves, springs etc and the trans too

Welcome im getting ready to run a similar setup except my block is .040 over. Not much difference but we will probably be putting out around the same numbers. Good luck with the build, and welcome to the site
