  • Track day invitation - April 26th

    Good evening all.
I am a new member here (obviously) and a three-time F-body owner. My current car is a Corvette, but I have not lost the love I had for my three Camaros.
My primary purpose for posting tonight is to invite you to a track day at Gingerman Raceway on Monday, April 26th. I am the facilitator for the event for Digital Corvettes. Naturally, we love our Corvettes, but enjoy just about any other type of sports car as well. This event is aimed at getting new drivers on track as well as providing a relaxed environment for seasoned racers to have some fun. If you're interested in this event, send me a message or check out our thread here:

    http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...d.php?t=132764

I'll also be checking in here periodically along with some other F-body sites concerning a '68 Camaro project I will be assembling for my wife.
    Best Wishes
    Richard Gordon

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. I think I'm going to really enjoy this forum, despite the fact that most of you are located 800 miles from me.

That's the one, about 15 miles southwest of you near South Haven. Thinking of joining us?

What type of equipment...safety wise do we need? Helmet?
Was on the Gingerman site and couldn't find what you need to race.

Sounds like something I will do. I had a blast on the Road Atlanta race coarse, with my 1998 Camaro SS, Convert. Will I have any safty issues/rules, cause I have a Convert? ie no rollbar... Also helmet needed?

                          Track rules here:

                          http://www.gingermanraceway.com/rules-and-regulations

Convertibles require roll protection of some type. Helmets must be DOT or SNELL 2000 or later. You need long sleeves and long pants, but no special driving suits required.
