Help needed for Pioneer stereo install!!

I just bought a 1995 Camaro and my sweety bought me a PIONEER 7" AVH-P6000DVD for Christmas, why she told me early I don't know, maybe she thought I would buy something before then. However can someone tell me where I can find the in dash dimensions for a 1995 stock radio no cd no tape player just a big square with rounded edges and if my radio will fit and how? I called 2 audio places nearby, one told me they could make it fit the other said it wouldnt. Please help!

J/K, anything is possible, it just depends on where your comfort zone is. . . you can modify anything to fit, heck, look at Meissen's car! It's got a touchscreen in it that he made fit, and it's possibly the cleanest in-dash monitor install I've ever seen. You just have to decide what you want to do, figure out how you're going to do it, and get busy.

Personally, I'd have the stereo taken out of the car already, measuring things. If it won't fit the dimensions of the existing hole in the dash, you need to decide if you're going to try to go a different route, or if you are going to make the hole big enough for the unit to fit in it. Ben (Phoenix_Rising) has a pretty BA Kenwood in his car, it definitely isn't a direct bolt-in replacement for the stocker, but he's making it work.

Think outside the box, and if you need help along the way, post up your questions, there are plenty of people here that have done this kind of thing before.

Best idea I can think of is to take out the stereo, set the new unit in the hole, and try to figure out a plan to mount it first. After that, you can figure something out for a bezel to make it look pretty.

Thanks for the heads up, yeah I've seen Meisens car and his in dash is sweet. I'll ask him how he did it or if he had someone do it for him. I just purchased some wheels for it and I'm not looking to spend a million bucks for it. trying to keep it simple although i wanted something different.
If I cant take it back I'll make you a really good offer for it

B did that himself. I'm pretty sure there's a write-up on it on here somewhere, but it's a little different, since his was just a monitor, yours is a complete headunit. The process is similar, but you have mounting issues to deal with.

That head unit is double din and our radio bezels are single din. You'll need to create a custom bezel to get it to work I believe.

Yes a double bin is required to run a head unit like that. Doing something like B did would work or maybe you could find a double bin bezel to work in the camaro.

The head unit is easy to remove in the 95 the front bezel pulls off. then you have to remove the screws in the front on each side. then pulls out you can measure the radio and see the mounting to see if yours would work Mike. Unfortunately dad you're thinking of the 97-2002 interior. The 1993-1996 interior bezel is the lovely:


You'll have to unbolt your knee bolster under the steering column (two screws and two bolts I believe), then you'll have access to the two bolts on the left. The two bolts on the right are easily unveiled by opening the glove box. Then you can remove the bezel.

yep your right my car is a firebird and just pulls off. anyway Mike offer still stands.

Me and Nick put my 7" Kenwood in before he left for Korea. Nick had the unit installed in like 30 minutes. Basically you need to pry off the bezel, unbolt the old stereo and You will have to break off some of the plastic tabs that are in the way, but other than that its not bad, it should slide right in. Nick only used his leatherman knife to do the install. I still need to make a new bezel for mine.

Wow guys thanks for the help...Darren I have pics in the photo album. & Yes I still have the third gen. I found a place called sound and secure that told me they will create a custome install for me for about $200.00 bucks I've seen some of there work and a few folks recommended them. I'M CROSSING MY FINGERS. If they screw it up I'm coming over to get some help. Not doing anything major to it. Its been a project so far...

Remanufactured engine painted chevy orange even though you cant really see the block due to all the crap on the top.

Rebuilt transmission.

Next step new brakes and rotors

A stock paint job

and the radio if I can get it to fit
