Hi From Roseville

Hi there,

New to the site. Currently working on a base 1994 Firebird V6 in which it will be receiving a much larger power plant. I'm starting a Pontiac 400 build in two weeks. Nothing too exotic. A Th400 will back the 400 and for now the weak 10 bolt. I've only know of two other street 4th Gens that have been powered by traditional Pontiac motors. So I have my work cut out for me. Well I hope to enjoy myself here and help anyone I can. Any questions or thoughts let me know.

Hey, im from Roseville too, i dont have a Fbody, but my car is easily recognizable, lol. have you had the 3800 out on Gratiot before or did you just get the car?

No I did not get to drive on Gratiot with it. The 3.4 was leaking coolant and lucky for me the trans went as I pulled in my driveway. Expected though with over 250,000 miles on the orginal trans and engine. I think I've seen you on Gratiot before. Around 12 Mile?? There are a couple of GN's in Roseville. The motor came out of a 75 Firebird. Its a low comp. motor. But upping compression on a Pontiac is easy with a head swap. Plus I have 4 sets of heads and a 350 block in the garage. Plan is a 9:1 w/ 6X-4 heads hand ported by me with larger exaust valves, A Comp XE274 Hydralic Cam, Comp 1.52 Roller Tip rockers, A Q-Jet, RPM Manifold, Forged Pistons and Rods. According to various Pontiac builders I've talked to, I should be in the neighborhood of 375-400 Horsepower and 425-475 Ft/Lbs of Torque. Coupled with a TH400 with a shift kit and mild stall, I should be doing mid 12's all day. The car is being lightened as much as I can. Should weigh around 3300 to 3450 with me in it. Plus, there is aways that nitrous Kit in my basement too!!!!
