Hi, Tom B from Highland here. I have a 1979 Z28 that my wife and I purchased this past January from a party in Florida. This car had only 50,000 miles on it when I purchased it. In fact, it had the original spark plugs and plugs wires still on it. I spoke with the original owner and learned the entire history of the car. It is a low-option, 4 speed car. Factory options are deluxe interior, roof rail moldings, and the N90 aluminum turbine wheels (they're for sale - cheap!). The car was originally Carmine in and out, but was repainted in 1981 with Imron paint and is now Firethorn red. I pulled the motor to repaint and detail, and found a loose timing chain. While replacing the chain, also changed the cam to the 350 HO cam (212 / 222, 435/455, 112.5).
I work for GM and have a new assignment in the GMPP group. The motor may soon be replaced with a ZZ4 that I previously had in a 1968 Impala. I attended the meet and greet at Baker's this spring and enjoyed the folks and the cars. Looking forward to this new, Camaro / Firebird family.
Thanks,
Tom B.
