I just joined after returning from The Widetrackers Dust-Off Show in Davisburg and later shopping for auto tools and dinner with my two young ladies, daughters age 9 and 11. I probably would have skipped the show but my daughters are really into my Formula and looking at old cars after I finally replaced the distributor in my 1990 Firebird Formula that I have owned since it was new. I did not show the car because I was busy cleaning the underside of the hood. I arrived at the show at about 2:45PM. Any of you leaving after the awards were presented would have seen us near the guy filming the cars as they left. My car was just past the buildings in the parking lot so if you were there you would have seen my car. The car has been parked in my garage for years due to rusted off pole pieces on the distributor. It has the 305 with TPI and WS6 suspension. It is all original except for 4 injectors, distributor and the hood insulation that has been pulled due to damage from mice. New insulation will be shipped on Monday. The mice turned the original insulation into a home one winter years ago when it was stored in my garage for the winter. I did not realize until now that much of the oder was coming from the insulation. I clean the hood and many parts on and around the engine. All the odor is gone from the hood and almost all from under the hood. The smell is still present in the HVAC system. I am not sure how to get rid of the smell. Any ideas? I know I should post the question elsewhere but I thought while I was saying hello I would ask.
I just took some quick photos of the car in the garage so I could post them here. I doubt I even had a digital camera before the car sat in the garage for years so I will need to take better photos one of these days.
