New to the site but not camaro's.
I have owned all 3rd gen's - 1983 Z-28 305HO, 1989 RS 305TBI, 1986 Z-28 w/ 454, and currently a 1983 Z-28 with a midly built 355.
My old man also has a 1968 Camaro with a buit 327.
Oh yeah, I also owned a 1979 Z-28 for about a month.
I guess I'm kind of addicted to camaro's - specifically 3rd gens but would love to have a 1979 Z-28 to add to the stable.
You've probably seen a link to my car posted here by a fellow member - needed a cam and lifters at the time. Well to make a long story short, don't go to "Smith Performance Engines and Heads" in Southern Indiana for work. He totally screwed up my ported heads to the point where there was so much pressure in the valve springs that I was wiping lopes off my camshafts. Problem is fixed now and the car is running again.
PS - I could use a spare 700r4 transmission for a 3rd gen camaro if anyone has one sitting around collecting dust. Or I would also consider a freshly rebuilt one.
