  • New to the board, but not to Fbodies....

Hello all. Saw a bumper sticker off one of our club members rides and thought I'd check you out. My name is Al and I live in Saginaw. I am the VP of the Bay City Rides Car Club. We have about 45 club members and a few hundred on our messageboard.

My Fbody is a 1999 Trans Am Convertible. Its loaded with mods including nearly all bolt ons, cam, 3500 stall, etc. Not the fastest Fbody around, but I'm not trying to be either. Bought the car bone stock 3 years ago and did many of the mods myself, and learned ALOT in the process. Looking forward to meeting some of you online and off.

Very nice numbers you have there, I'm guessing your happy with a mailorder tune? I hope to hit the track soon here and produce numbers close to yours for my first time out. Hope to see you in May.

Yes I'm quite happy with the tune. Car wouldn't stay running without it. I had to drill the throttlebody to keep it from the occasional stalling though, but it does surge when decerating from 45 mph and slower. The cam has a Thunder Racing Custom "Reverse Split" Camshaft - 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA. I picked up nearly 5 tenths at the track with the cam and related internal upgrades.

What do you have done to your TA?

Sweet setup. You have aftermarket heads so you are 1 up on me.

That should put you in the neighborhood of 500 for sure! That's probably the next big mod I will end up doing down the road.

In the near future, I'm looking at some suspension mods for better traction, maybe FTRA and some pulleys. Right now I'm just glad I still have the car. It was up for sale and I nearly sold it until we came to have a better financial situation at home.

Yeah I guess 500 from the engine wouldn't be too far off but I bet its somewhere around 380rwhp or so through the stall. I have a set of nittos at my house and am waiting to install subframes, after that it'll be LCAs, torque arm, panhard rod and whatever else breaks.
