  • First Thread - 1998 Firebird Convertible

Hi. Tony here. 1998 Firebird Conv. Thinking of swapping the stock hood for a Ram Air hood. Curious to here from others who have done the same (aftermarket and Genuine Pontiac parts). I put an aftermarket hood on my 1983 Mustang convertible, and have always had problems with the latch and ended up putting in hood pins. Thanx and have a great 4th!

I'm sure plenty of people will be able to jump in on this one for the hood, Tony. I know a few people have done it at the very least. Angie, my fiance, has a 2002 Firebird and she put a WS6 hood on her car. Where in Shelby Twp do you live, Tony? I live in Macomb at 24 Mile and Hayes, grew up in Shelby Twp though at 25 Mile and Shelby Rd from 2nd grade through 1st year of college.

I swapped out my Flat hood for this Factory R/A hood over 9 yrs ago
and it's an easy swap and there is no problems with the latch assembly.

So it looks like mother nature may have forced my hand. I am working on a paddle boat in my driveway, and it is on a stand about 4 feet from my car. The wind today pushed it across the driveway and it landed on the hood of my car.... What a drag. Didn't dent the hood, only scratched it.... I am at 21 and Schoenherr, been here for 3 years and was in Macomb at 21 and Garfield for 5 years before that.
