  • Hello!

    Hey guys,

My name is Mark and I live in Grand Haven. Soon to be GR.

I'm just trying to get more knowledge about Camaro's. So I'll probably be asking questions and things, so yes I am a noob! I own a 96 camaro...stock. Unfortunately i'm learning that it's a fake z28, where the last owner just put the z28 emblems/stickers (whatever you call them) on the sides and whatever......

      Hi Mark,

      Welcome to the site.

Unfortunately, adding Z28 emblems to a V6 Camaro is much cheaper than actually buying a Z28, so that's why some people feel compelled to do so.

You will learn a lot about Camaros & Firebirds here. You'll also learn to be proud of your V6 Camaro, too.

RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

          Oke doke:

          Sorry for the CRAPPY PICTURES

I try to keep it really clean. It's been parked inside (as in, not when i'm driving it >.>) since i've bought it - previous owner says he did the same. I don't take it out in winters as I just spin pretty much. There is some small sun damage to the paint, but it's in pretty good condition for being a 96. I sadly think I am going to have to sell it.

Sorry about the dishonesty you got traped in when you bought your ride

Great combination for a v6, Mark. 3.8L v6 with a 93-97 body style. Better of the v6s with the better body style. Great color combination, too. Really love the stripes -- painted or vinyl? Check out the information under my post and on top of the site for the Meet & Greet -- it's less than 2 weeks away and there will be a huge group from Grand Rapids driving out here together. Would be a great way to learn more about Camaros by seeing a whole bunch first hand.

Good looking car. Did you buy it thinking it was an 8 though?

No, I knew it was a v6 but I didn't know that it wasn't a z28, because I really didn't know what a z28 meant...if that makes sense. I really didn't know much about Camaro's before, and I'm just starting to learn. I really like the camaro style all generations (I would love to get my hands on the 09!), however it seems I'm flaunting false advertising to everyone with these cheap stickers the guy put on....that doesn't make me feel good.

I'm interested in learning how to improve the performance/condition of the car, it needs a new interior (rips, previous owner spills in the back), and I'm a complete noob even with cars right now.... but you all have to start somewhere!

Any tips on where to start reading up?

And to answer meissen, vinyl, and sweet car you've got! What rims are those, as I couldn't find any kind that would seem to work on mine? It has a weird bolt setting right? I could never get that figured out. Thanks for the offer for the meet, but unfortunately I can't make it this year, maybe next if I can hold onto the car!

                    Any help would be great!

lol, that takes way more time/money/effort than just removing those badges!

but.... ...a great project does have to start somewhere
