  • New guy from Coloma/Benton Harbor

My name is Steve, but there are too many Steves in the world, so call me by my last name "Moser." I'm from the Coloma/Benton Harbor area and own a few little projects. I'm not much of a mechanic, but I sure do love cars. Chevy is my favorite.

First is my baby, my 1991 Camaro RS. Only has a 3.1 but i've got big plans for her. Got this a few years back for $2,000. Body used to be in great shape until people decided to back into me.

Next is my 1979 Chevy Stepside. Was in pretty decent condition until I got bored last summer and ripped it up and found it to be a huge mess. Still trying to decide what I want to do with this one.

Lack of space, mostly. There are some holes here and there in the floor of the cab that I can see the ground. Alot of the body parts are dented and a bit rusty. The rear fenders didn't want to come off originally, so we decided to take a grinder to them. I was planning on getting new ones anyways. Luckily for me, the parts for this year aren't too expensive and it's a pretty simple project. I just need a little space.

Plans for the Camaro are still up in the air. Am sort of here looking for some suggestions. I won't be driving it anytime soon since I just got a new truck, so I've got as much time as I want to get her done. I'm planning to get new paint, a darker shade of red, and fix up whatever needs to be done on the body. There is virtually no rust on it, so it should be pretty simple. It needs a few new body panels since people don't know how to drive, and I'll get new rims and the like. New interior and all that jazz.

My main thing is figuring out what to do with the engine. It has a 3.1 with over 200k miles and I want more power. My truck has a 5.7L and I was thinking about dropping that in my car, with a 454 in my truck. Or should I do the 454 in the car and leave the 350 in the truck? I need suggestions.

Pretty much everything on my car will be replaced as its making some funny noise, and things are starting to fall apart from old age.

I'd say put the 454 in the Camaro...can't go wrong with that...

Oh man that red/black tool box brings back memories. I must have carried 10,000 of those things back and forth when I worked at Sears.

Anyhow, Welcome bro! I'm Ben. Feel free to poke around a bit and be sure to keep us updated on that camaro.
