well it looks like I may have lost the engine on the new to me 67 Sprint this weekend. Took it out for a 2 hour round trip cruise, and about 5 miles from my house on the return trip it started smoking out the exhaust (Blue) and stalled and would not restart until I let it cool off for about 20 minutes. Bit it was running rough, and it blew the oil fill cap off of the oil fill tube! Good oil pressure, and did not overheat, but I haven't had time to do any T/S yet as Mothers Day activities ruled the weekend. Plan on doing a Compression check when I get a chance, and maybe buy a cheap boroscope to look down at the pistons.

I don't have a good feeling about it. 104,000 miles with no rebuild records so if it has 104,000 it could go at any time.

Woah...blew the oil cap off so it could have some major blowby issues...that's a bummer. Hopefully it didn't trash the cylinders and it's a (relatively) easy rebuild.

That's certainly disappointing. As Kyle says, nothing major, and if it is, a light rebuild with no major mechanical damage.

At over 100k miles and after after me and my brothers drove it into the ground, the old slant 6 in my Duster would stall with the breather stuck in the valve cover grommet. The last year or so of it's life, I had to drive it with the breather just laying next to the valve cover. It finally got to a point where it did not have enough compression to start. And she hasn't run since.
