Hi all,
I am new to this forum but certainly not new to f-bodys or car forums. I was born in 1979 and my father helped my uncle open a pontiac dealer back in 1979. In 1980 he drove a new TA as a demo and has had numerous trans ams and camaros since. I grew up riding in the "luxurios" back seat of a trans am when most kids were being carted around in minivans.
I bought my first car when I was 14. Working at my dads motorcycle shop I earned the money for a 1978 Trans Am. Mint condition, herb adams fire am package, 400 cid with crane cam, hooker headers, and an old marvin miller nitrous system. When I was 17 I bought a 92 Camaro RS as a year round daily driver (of course storing the 78 TA) with heritage stripes and the stock 305. When I graduated high school in 1997 I wanted a new 4th gen so bad I sold my 78 TA to my brother (big mistake) and my 92 RS to a friend and bought a 95 Z28 w/ 5,000 miles.
I have since had many f-bodys through college and after. I've had a 94 Z28, 1989 Turbo T/A, 2000 TA WS6, 1999 Camaro SS, 1998 TA (wifes), and 1998 TA WS6. I still have the 89 TTA and the 98 WS6. To support my habit I became a car dealer and my father and I went partners on a Pontiac Buick GMC dealership in Dec 2004. It is the store that my uncle owned since 1979. I am the general manager of the store since my dad still lives 60 miles south in Escanaba.
My TTA is my passion. I actually owned the car twice. I origionally bought the car with 10,000 miles from the origional owner back in 1998 and sold it to one of my dads friends back in 1999. I bought the car back in 2001. I don't think I'll make that mistake again. I have been toying with it the last couple of years and it goes faster now.
The 98 WS6 was bought for my wife but she never learned how to drive the 6spd. So now the car is stored indoors at my dealership for sale with only 21,000 miles. If it doesn't sell I really don't care. The car is awsome.
That is me. And my f-body habit
Eric
