HI, Im new to the site, and thought I would extend a hello to all of the fellow Michiganders in here.
Heres a blip about me:
28 yr old Freeland guy, saw the site off of our Yahoo group, and thought I would join in on the fun here.
Hobbies and interests: Old and New auto engineering, prefer older motors, but have more knowledge about the newer engines out there.
I build computers on the side, and tend to be a jack of many trades.
For the newer car stuff, I’m mostly familiar with GM, and have the capability to read OBDII protocalls on many makes and models to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with the PCM’s.
I’ve got 3 vehicles that I always boust about, even if they aren’t the fastest in the world, but they’ve treated me well, and the look decent too.
99 GMC Sierra SLE 4X4 “Shorty†5.3L HO with a B&M Transpack in the 4L60E
Runs 16.4’s completely stock, on hot days at Mid Michigan
1990 Pont. Bonneville, 3800 Series 1, 270K miles with 0 breakdowns over its life.
Yea…it’s a 4 door grocery getter, but with Goodyear HSR directional rubbers it can really tear up the corners, and has been known to beat some import guys out there.
I haven’t ran this on the track due to the mileage and the chance of being “the dork with the red bomb that screwed up the trackâ€
2002 Pont. Trans Am WS6, Black/Black, all the performance goodies, LS6 block, perf. Differential, etc etc etc. Purchased during the final lotment of birds in Sterling Heights in August 2002, June production car. Runs 13.8’s with high temps (220F)
Mainly I take this to shows just to have fun, and was my dad and my toy to just go out and have fun. Dad passed, so now it’s more of a sit on jackstands and look pretty 300 days out of the year.
I do plan on attending Woodward 06 and other miscellaneous car shows with it, but need to figure out the temp problem before I destroy the drivetrain.
Thanks for lending your ear
