Welcome to the site, Nick! Just so I know; how'd you find out about us? Camaro looks good; what's with the bra tho? Hiding some damage? Those things will eat through paint like a sandblaster. Ah well, welcome to the site and hope you enjoy your stay!

The car used to be the extremely common dark green, and one of the previous owners had it repainted orange, I guess to match the construction barrels that are increasingly common around MI. . . a type of "road camouflage" if you will. The bra is hiding some serious paint chips on the nose, and I will be removing it as soon as I get around to repainting it. My dad and I are going to paint it tangerine pearl, which is a bit brighter than the color on it now, and add black SS stripes. I am still in high school, and I am taking a couple of additional classes at Siena Heights University here in Adrian, so time, energy, and money all come at a premium for me.

A couple of updates- I put 20% tint on the front windows this past Tues. Does anyone know which headlight covers are the best? I want a set of black ones, or a set of decent clear ones that I can paint to match the car. If anybody lives around Adrian and wants to join a car club I am starting with a fellow F-Body owner, please email me at the address I posted above.

Thanks, I'll check those out. I removed the bra for a couple of minutes, got sick to my stomach and very depressed, lol. It's going to be a lot of work to fix that damage!

did the bra make the paint worse? I've always heard tons of horror stories from the damage bras do.

The bra was hiding some body damage. The paint in the headlight buckets was horrible. The driver side fender and hood are damaged pretty badly. My dad does bodywork, and he says he can fix it, so we won't need any new body panels. The whole front clip needs to be repainted, along with other various parts of the body, so I am hoping to get started on a complete paint job when the weather changes. The new color is similar to whats already on the car. We chose Tangerine Pearl, and with the work my dad has done, and what he has taught me, I think we can lay down a decent finish within the next year. I don't know whether I will be swapping motors anytime soon either. I have been looking for a better job, and as soon as I get one, I am going to start the build-up of my LT1. You know, the basics like a new cam, headers, fuel injectors, plugs, wires, maybe new heads. I guess that all depends on whether I am able to get a job or not. PM me if you want to see pics of the front end damage, and I can post some low-res pics tomorrow or this weekend.

Yeah. The front driver side has been messed up. It looks like the prev. owner drove that corner of the car underneath something. Top of fender is bent in, and hood is kinda creased and bent down. I'll try to take pics tomorrow (friday). If I forget, you'll always have May 13 to see it at the get-together. I'll try to get my friend Ben to bring his Firebird out, but I don't know if he'll be able to with school and work and everything.
