  • 1991 Z28 Winter project

Well, I thought I should post some pics while I'm getting started here, so I can have memories and scrapbook and stuff...hehe, just kidding.

    Anyhoo....here's my core. It's a 350 out of a whacked '89 Suburban,so it was already built for torque 8)

Blarg! The driver's seat is ripped up! Dog attack or something like that. Maybe I'll get luck and find another one, because I can't find truly matching covers. A new headliner is going in as well.

The paint is sundamaged in spots and peeling in others....typical FL car. That gives me an excuse to repaint I'll probably stay with the royal blue metal flake, and add a touch of pearl.

Other than the seat and the headliner, the interior is in really nice shape.
I recently found a dashpad to replace my cracked one, so I'm excited about that.

Anybody got one of these? It's a 1991 Camaro service manual.....maybe it will come in handy someday 8)

Ok....I haven't decided on any specifics yet, but this is the general plan so far:
-build 383 out of spare 350 block
-rebuild 700R4 to a beefy state
-install weld-in subframe, wonder bar, panhard bar, etc.
    -upgrade TPI with mini-ram
    -repaint
    -interior work

....almost in this order I guess, hehe.

I'll be sure to update as the situation unfolds. I look forward to your creative input.

you should so do a 4th gen seat conversion. leather seats like the ones in my car would look soo good in that thing.

I was gonna say the same thing about the seats. 4th gens will complement it very nicley. Other than that it sounds like you have your time occupied good luck with it all.

I like the look of the 4th gen leather seats...charcoal would probably go good with my interior....what is involved with the conversion process (manual seats) and where should I start shopping?

I take it that 4th gen seats are still available new?

Look on ebay or other larger forums. Don't know if you can get them new but used will be cheaper and should be able to find soem in great shape.

theyre a direct bolt in unless your switching from non-power to power seats in the conversion. If you upgrade to a power seat you will have to do a bit of fabbing on the electricals.
