finnally got some over drive i lucked out... my friends going to a auto tech school down in ohio and one of his class mates has a tremec 5 speed for me... 50 bucks 50 bucks thats all.. and all it needs is the pedals for the car which he thinks he can get for me sence it came out of none other than a 82 trans am... it has like 75,000 on it now but i talked to my boss at work and he said i can use the cnc and mill machines to punch out some forged gears on my own time also ordered a hihg performance clutch kit for it.. and stopped my order on the gear vendor. it might not be as great on the track but i miss having a manual.. so i will live. and save myself like 1,500 bucks so thats just more goodies i can put back into the engine this winter.

oh yes
well its a tremec 5 speed not the stock t-5 usually atleast 3 to 4 grand for the trans new... i work in a tool and die shop... all kinds of fun cnc and mill machines and chuncks of forged steal out the ass...lol comes in handy.. i also pulled out the motor today and the old 400th but i dont need a rear axel already running 4.10 in mine.. but if anyone wants a 400th let me know ill get rid of it cheep and its already built nice should handle around 750 hp fine... but im swapping my motor back over to full roller again and high compression my dreams of twin turbo i think are going to wait so i can get the wife a new car. but with the no2 and high comp roller motor... i should be alright for a while.Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. motor is apart now
got the motor torn down now aswell going to swith to a high compression for next summer dont really have the time or money to go twin turbos yet... and dont feel like spending half the summer tunning it in.. so got all new forged crank pistons rods and such from my mechanic... he just happened to have them lying around from his datsun... so have flat top pistons in it now and have a set of iron dart heads going on it.. switching everything back over to a roller motor hopefully running around 12.1 or higher when we are done.. probablly ditch my solid cam gear though tore a hole right into my timming cover...and all my bearings were shot... no wonder i was starting to loose oil pressure... hes got the same block and parts in the datsun running around 575 hp at the crank so im hoping to get the same out of this plus the nitrous should be set for next year... its going to be a solid toy not a daily driver like befor so i can go all outOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. 12.1
lol when i said 12.1 i didnt mean a time i ment my compression when im done...lol god i couldnt live with myself if it only ran 12 seconds... wouldnt be any better than what i pull now on low compression and no2... i just ordered the complete iron dart forged stroker kit.. new crank i beam rods domed pistons the cam im looking at is a 525 540 roller cam not sure if its the one i want yet or not... stroker motors really eat up cams... a huge cam will end up seeming mild when its in... now i need to think about new heads... not sure if im just going to clean up an old pair of 305 heads just port and polish stud them and see what happens... or if i should search for a noice set of after market heads nice alum.. or something... and note to self if anyone wants to run solid gear cams make sure you buy the thick timming cover i had a nice hole in the front of mine just smaller than my cam button...lol if i didnt pull the motor when i did i see a cam shooting out the front of the motor in my dreams now... so i also picked up a nice 1/4 inch solid timming cover with a button grove already stamped in so that wont happen again...Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. well i will mess with it... i have a set of forged flat tops already that he had left over, and a set of forged domed that comes with the kit...if i go flat top that would bring it down alot... still not sure what heads im going to use though i still have my 76 cc which i could keep on it they have nice flow and all, that with the domed pistons might get me a nice setup.. i want a little higher than what it was... i dont mind running premium but your right race fuel is up there still like 4 bucks for 115 at the track... and i dont have alot of other places to buy it around here... unlike you down in the city where meijer sells 110 and higher...lol its not fair. ive got alot of parts on order right now feeling my wallet get smaller every minute.. pretty much done just need to get a set of roller lifters and make a decision on the cam yet i really dont want anything to crazy its still going to hit the streets alot in the summer. im thinking 550 rangeOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice.
