  • Official dyno results for the Minirammed 385: 400 RWHP!

Dont know if I've posted this or not, but on August 20th my car was tested on the livernois dyno where it posted a peak of 396 RWHP and 385 ft.lb of torque at the rear wheels. That is something like 450 crank horsepower and 430 ft.lbs of torque.

There's more power to be found in there too, folks!
Watch for it on October 15th at Mid-Michigan Motorplex when I debut one of the first of the new FAST XFI engine control management computers!

It's here and it aint vaporware!
1984 Pontiac Trans Am. Well, most of it anyway. Some of it is 1969 Chevy. Some of it is 1982 4-cylinder Firebird, 1987 Trans Am, and 1991 Formula 1LE. Some of it is 1994 Trans Am, and some of it is 1999 SLP Firehawk. The rest is aftermarket.

On Saturday morning I ran a 12.78 at 114.6 MPH on my street tires. Then my clutch began failing: It would give up at 3800 RPM and start spinning. I didnt recognize the symptoms, I just thought it was tire spin! However, after six back-to-back runs the clutch went away. It came back after about thirty seconds, but about two miles from home I tried a holeshot with my kids in the car and the clutch laid down its life by bursting into smoke. So, rest in peace, Spec II. I should have bought the heavier-duty version, I guess!

The car went 12.40 at 114 MPH two weeks ago at Stanton, and my best MPH at Milan on Saturday was a 12.90-something at 115.0 MPH. MPH kept going down from there, presumably from the slipping clutch.

In other trivia, gas mileage was 19 MPG on the way to the track, and 0.7 MPG on the track itself.
