3rd gen speedo ?

does anyone know on an 89 formula, the speedo, is it wired through the ecm or is there a speedometer cable? And what is the size of the speedo?

Firebirds 85+ have electric speedometer, and it runs through a buffer box which splits the signal to the ECM and the gauge.

No, the bezel needs to be cut and youll have to go with the next size up, which barely fits.

maybe i'll just get something fabricated to stick all the aftermarket guages in, then put that where the original bezel is.

I like the second one alot, they're all nice. I was having the machine shop make something for me out of sheet metal. Have to see if they could do it first.

yes i would like to know also, so matt what size would be better the 5" or the 3 and whatever over the other number one for the tach and the speedo?

The 3 and whatever one wont fill up your stock bezel and would look retarded unless you had a custom bezel, the 5" ones will look good in a modified stock bezel, like picture #2 has done.
