  • Need Price on a new convertible top on a 91 Iroc

Anybody know of a good source to replace the convertible top, or has anyone replaced theirs recently and can share how much it was? I am thinking about buying a 91 but it needs a new top. The dealer said it should be about $800, but I don't really want to trust that. Thanks.camaro.jpg

800 isn't a bad price to have one installed.

In all my searching, Autoberry has the best price and warranty so far. For my 89, Stayfast Canvas w/ 6 year warranty is $309 shipped to my door.

I did mine myself for my '95, the top alone was something like 500 for a kit with a glass back window. From the same company (https://www.convertibletopguys.com/c...ro-IROC-Z-Z-28) they look to be the same price range.

If you're getting glass, I would say $800 is a good price. It's quite a bit of labor, not super hard, but a lot of messing around. If they're selling you a plastic rear window, maybe not. If you're just getting the top, you can do better than $800.

Glass tops aren't original for the 87-92 cars. They are available but are priced around $500

FYI, if they told you that 91 was an IROC then they are lying to you. IROC-Z was dropped for the 91 model year, they went back to Z28 since GM did not renew the IROC contract.

Nope, you are right, that was my mistake. He wants $4200, while it is super clean and all stock, after adding a new top i'll be in for 5K which seems like of steep....is it?

Depending on how many miles are on it, that doesn't sound like a bad deal. Verts are rising in value right now.

They're probably counting colors or something. I remember the guy that I bought my T/A from telling me it's "1 of XXX". Yeah. . . 1 of XXX in white with a white top and interior. Not necessarily a lie.

Welcome back Scott. $4200 is a good buy even needing a top.
