Hey Everyone! Its been awhile!! Havnt been on in robably over a year so busy graduating college and working, my poor baby has just been sitting in my garage, but anyways im finally to the point of having money to put into her again and i have a few question about picking out new wheels! Right now im leaning towarods a staggerd set-up but im not very sure about offset or how wide of wheels i can go in front and back. do i simply just get a tape measure and measure the wheel well or is the a specs page somewhere to tell me the numbers? thanks for any help you guys can give me!!!

10.5" wide will work, all depends on the offset and where you want you wheel to sit - that will determine what spacer you need to run.

Yes and no. The bolt pattern is correct but the offset/backspacing is completely wrong. You will need 1.5" - 2" spacers (or adapters, often worded differently) to make them fitOriginally posted by Bluedevil19 View Posthttp://www.oewheelsllc.com/Clearance...s#.UvgD8vldWuI

The ones you linked to are +54mm. Under the "Add to Cart" button there is a "Specs" tab/button. That will show you the offset.
OEM IROCs are 16x8 with a 0mm offset front and +16mm rear.
If you wanted the outside lip to sit in the same spot as the OEM, you need to factor in the added width to sit towards the inside. There is quite a bit of 'wiggle room' if you will. I'm running 18x9 with +50mm offset and 1.5" spacers, puts the tire pretty close to the fender. I might drop to 1" on the front since I have LS1 brakes to tuck them in a little more.

Simple. Buy 4th gen wheels from OE wheels in any style you want. Go to ebay and buy adapters in 1.5 or 2 inch spending on the look you want in the front and back and bolt them up. Done.Originally posted by Bluedevil19 View Posti really want some black Z06 or C6 Grand Sports, does it matter that i havnt converted to discs yet, and the whole offset thing is so confusing lol i keep looking at offset charts but idk lmao

I'd recommend 1.5" spacer if going with anything over 8" width, but again it really depends on the offset. Going 10.5" might need a 2" though, hard to say since I've never fitted one on my third gen. Only 8, 9, and 9.5 so far.Originally posted by Darren View PostSimple. Buy 4th gen wheels from OE wheels in any style you want. I say spacer because I when I think adapter I think adapting bolt patterns ie. 4.75"x5 to 4.5"x5. Both terms are used synonymously on anything over 1" pretty much.
If you were closer I'd let you borrow a set for testing, I think I have 6 or 8 in various thicknesses.

I have and have used 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 and 2 inch. My last car I had 8inch wide wheels 2 inch up front 1.5 in the back with a 275 tire. This car I think 1.5 all around with 9.5 wheel and 275's on all 4. Might need 1.75 up front tho not sure yet.sigpic

Have you installed the LS1 brakes yet, Darren? You will bump the track width about .3" on both sides with the LS1 rotor.
I'd have to check to be sure, but I think I have 1.5" up front now on the 9" wheel (+50 offset) with 245 rubber and LS1 brakes - it's cutting it close. I am lowered with tubular a-ams though. I've changed setups so often that I forget where I'm at now
So many factors to consider!
BTW, the photo in my sig is when it was on 17x8 Boyd Coddingtons (zero offset/4.5" backspace) and it's much different with the new setup.Last edited by hoogiesngrinderz; February 11th, 2014, 11:58 PM.
