Its Officially..........gone

Well everyone today the people buying my car picked it up. Feels weird not having it anymore. Then again I thought I would have a hard time getting rid of it even though it was a V6. I'm being serious even though I had the car for just a little over a year and only drove it for about 6 months. Paid $2900 for it, put 13,000 miles on it in those 6 months, and turned around and sold it for $3500. I think I did pretty good. Last year in February I put $1500 in the bank for a 15 month CD and this February I should be getting $2500 because yeah I'm just special like that. So what I'm getting at is 3500+2500= 6000. Don't know how much I'll have when the CD is up but hopefully around 6500 because of the good intrest rate. So should I just wait until end of winter to buy a car, one that I will really like or go for it now and use the extra money for mods like a rebuild and every part I can squeeze in there with the budget? Let me know what ya think.

I would find a LS1 you can find them for about 6k (you might have to drive) but now is the time to buy (cheaper now them in spring)

Well you can scout around for a higher mileage TLC fourthgen or you can nab up a premo thirdgen. I got my GTA for $4k, so with $6k you should be golden.

Hey man your moving up in the world. I know you'll miss that car but you will find one that will knock you socks off. Just be patient find one that has that something and then make it yours. Sounds like a girlfriend don't it?

Best advice I can give you is to be patient, keep your eyes open. Look, know what's out there, and wait for the right one to come along. Don't rush it or you won't be happy, it'll be worth it.

It was hard to sell my 84 Camaro, but it was a little easier because I had already purchased by 85 TA.

I'd start looking now because people are trying to unload their sports cars before winter and they have to find a place to store them. One you hit March/April prices will start to go back up on them since people are thinking about spring and new cars. For 6K you should be able to pick up a nice clean 80K or so mile 3rd gen or a higher mile 4th gen if you shop around. I know you were looking for a late 3rd gen Formula. I'll keep my eyes open for one. Have you looked at what's for sale on thirdgen.org?

Actually for that much, might even be able to find a 3rd Gen with a documented rebuild on a 350 Engine.

I agree with everyone else. This is the time of year to be shopping. I know there's a white 3rd gen with t-tops for sale by me. It's been sitting there for awhile so I don't know what's wrong with it. The body looks in good condition. Has the wrap around spoiler like MattODoom's.

i wasnt without a vehicle for that entire year lol, i simply meant i was looking for a year. even though i bought my car intending to daily it, i changed my mind immediately after i bought it and kept the old truck i had.

PS thursday... if youre considering 4th gens at all you might wanna check out that 96 Trans Am i posted, its a really nice one... a little out of your range, but definitely worth the $

For $6k you should be able to get a really nice thirdgen. My car had fresh bodywork and paint, with 69k miles on the clock, for much less then 6,000. Personally I would go for one that hasnt been rebuilt, so you can do it later with parts that you want.
