Now, I really don't know how good the car you currently own is.
But I will try to stick with the facts, and not put my preferences in here.
Because the question is, is it worth it to you, not me.
I don't think its a deal or anything, but I do think it looks like a break even car.
Especially if you are comparing apples to apples..
3rd gen to 3rd gen..
Sure, if you love 4th gens, then I would say wait.
If the car runs good, the under body isn't rusted out.
It appears to be the original color, but was it painted?
If you are looking into cars, you might as well spended the 25 dollars on an online reporting system like Car Fax, just to determine if it has a hidden history, because I can't believe how many of these cars have been in front end collisions.
If you are looking into a car within reasonable driving distance from your home and you like on the East Side of Michigan.
Then I would say thats a far price, from what I can see.
Plus, its rare that people put their rock bottom price on the car.
If you are interested, offer them $2500 see what they say.
I have seen cars in worse condition than that go for 4k and 5k.
From what I have seen on the East side of Michigan, is that when you start dropping below the 3k range you are getting into the 2.8L V6 3rd Gens.
Again, assuming you are looking for a 3rd gen.
So many people have told you that they have seen much better deals.
If so, I ask them to post those links on here so you can find them too...
The best deals are usually people that don't advertise properly, so if anyone knows of good deals around, then let this person know.
I mean heck, I found a ZR1 Vette with only minor damage for 3K, 10 years ago in PA.
So its not so much what you have seen, its what you see..
But now through spring is the time for deals.
Don't be afraid to offer them 2500 or 2800 and see what they say.
If they say no on 2800, then say well what about 3K.
Either way..
Good luck.. And make sure if you look at that car, that it runs really good, with those miles.Currently Owned F-Bodies

Shop around dude!
This makes me feel so FUGGIN GOOD about buuying my 98 LS12 for $5K!!! Man, you can do better for the money. If you have your heart set on a 3rd gen, there are tons out there! If you're gonna build the engine anyway, your biggest concern is the body and interior. Here's a pretty nice one with half the miles... and a GTA....not to shabby...closer than Ohio too
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...el=&cardist=54
and here's one just to appease Angie's need for Red! LOL
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...g=1&cardist=28
So, that one has only 72,000 miles on it...you can do better dude!
Edit---of course, I have to put a Camaro on here too...this one already has alum. head and the engiine is already built a bit...save $500 to put into more go fast parts!

Unless you really really want a Formula..
Or unless you totally hate white.
I would go with the 1st link, the white TA.
That is a much better deal.
Good links, DTZ28.
BTW.. That 3rd link, the Camaro, has been on auto trader forever.
Plus with the low rear, if its your daily, you will be spending big bucks on gas.
Like I mentioned, the Formula was a break even deal. Not a good deal, but doesn't look like a rip off either.
But that white TA looks like a pretty good deal. Especially if it is as advertised when you go see it.
Damn, I have not been on autotrader for about 2 weeks now and the prices are really starting to drop.
Guess its part of that Winter clearance deals..Currently Owned F-Bodies

yeah i really want a formula, 87-89 with a 350 and the auto (700r4), that formula has a 350 and t-tops and the t-tops are a big plus, and the interior isn't that bad, just dirty, you should've seen mine when i got it. I like the color of the car and it would look really good with black rims instead of gold, and the tailights blacked out. I'm gonna give the guy a call to get some more info.
