  • Speedo gear help!!

As the title says I am trying to figure out what gear I need. My 91 RS originally had a 273 gear ratio. Last summer we upgraded to a 373. I drove the car all summer with the speedometer way off. I would like to try to fix this before I bring the car out this year. The gear on the output shaft of the trans has 17 teeth. The speed sensor gear has 37 teeth. Both gears are red. I called Summit thinking that they would be able to set me up with the right gear or gears. The guy that took my call told me that he would do some research and call me back. Does anyone have a third gen with a 700R4 and 373 gears and know what I need? Thanks guys!

Yup, no problem! 700r4's are easy, T5's with 3.42's and up are where it gets difficult...OEM 7 tooth gears are very hard to fine for the manuals. I had to make my last two gears! A company just started to reproduce the correct drive gear at ~$50 each

Yeah these I can get for between $15-$20. It was one of the most annoying problems the car had last summer. I couldn't stand the speedo being off that much.
