So you bought a camaro with minimal information about it before purchase?

        A) You couldn't get a 5 speed with a 350
        B) You couldn't get a carbed 350 in 87
        C) If it is an 87 T5 transmission, it isn't World Class. Careful with 3rd gear.

Nice! Doesnt look too bad from that picture at all, how much did you steal it for? Also these guys above are correct, its not stock its been played with but still none the less sounds like a fun car! That's exactly what mine will be (one day).

Its been played with thats forsure.

Its a damn good running car. Guy had 1600 on the window
My brother paid 1410 for it because the guy couldnt get it to run
Without it backfiring from the carb or the exhaust.

I opened the hood and it was alittle timing retard so i twisted the cap and advanced it
Back to 0° then to 5° and he hit the key and it fired right up,

Thats the thing i love about an older motor i can time a gen 1 motor by ear.

But it had a coolant leak from a hose when we bought it.
Reverse gear grinds when you try to go into it unless you jump from
              first then go to reverse.

Someones been into it pretty good. But the floors under it
Are spotless. The body is in pretty decent shape apart
From the big amount of bondo i can tell is in the drivers door

Nothing leaks, no smoke, no crazy or odd sounds,

Just an all around good car that needs alittle tlc,

Im going out in a minute to take a few more for you guys,

Oh its also got a drum brake rear thats non posi. Which sucks

But ill probably throw some lt1 rear brakes on it

Oh and did i mention my brother gave me the car for my birthday coming up in april?

He doesnt know how to drive a stick and i talked him into buying it.
And he stated talking about selling it so i started hinting around
And he gave it to me lol.

Of course the wife isnt too happy with my brother because his
82 berlinettta has been here hogging the garage for about 7 days
And she wants my 93 z28 to be fixed. (Tensioner)

And giving me something thats going to keep me out there
All day/night isnt making her happy lol

You would have better results if you use a timing light.

Do the car a favor - get a timing light on it.

Doing a LT1 rear brakes isn't exactly cheap, about $400 into mine after adapter brackets/calipers/rotors/pads/e-brake cable. I do have some rear calipers that need rebuilding that I'll part with for cheap.

Reverse gear doesn't have a syncro. Reverse grinds due to a worn idler gear, very common and the part is not too expensive. It's just a lot of work to get to it. I still go 1st to reverse on EVERY stick car I drive (habit) - but on T5's doing so slows down the counter shaft so you don't beat up the dogs on the idler gear when going into reverse.

Why do I get the feeling that this is an RS?

i have some baskets and mounting brackets for the lt1 rears too

looks like it could be a z28 at the minimum

I know, but not often. Only RS got that grille from 88-92.

Anyway, post up a vin number if you don't have any objections to doing so. Also a pic of the RPO codes
