  • Photoshop of new wheels

So this is the route i'm going. It looks i'll be buying some 18 inch iroc replicas, blasting them, polishing them, and painting them.

    Thoughts?

Good luck getting the chrome off. I'd look at a chemical strip or etch vs a mechanical strip. It will look awesome though if you can get it off and polished up.

What condition are the 18's in? Any reason you want to strip the chrome off? If you dont like them, sell them to me

I have always been a believer that 18s are too big for 3rd and 4th gen cars but after seeing pictures of Austin's red 1987 track car with 18s, it can be pulled off with the right stance. I look forward to seeing the car when you finish the wheels.

          What about getting them blasted?

Darren the only reason I'm going to strip/blast them is because you can't buy them in a factory-like finish. I have some cragars to sell but that's another story!

Anybody have experience with having wheels widened? I heard weldcraft does a good job.

Weldcraft does fantastic work. Had some wheels narrowed by them many moons ago.

                        Thanks!

Was Weld-craft's prices reasonable? How was the turnaround time?

Depends on what you consider reasonable. Last I knew it was about $150/wheel to narrow and $200/wheel to widen. They are widely known as the best in the business though. I can't speak about turnaround today, but like 5-6 years ago when I had work done there it was a couple weeks.

Sweet. I think they are 8.5 wide as ordered. I'd like to at least run 10's out back. I really need to get them mounted up and measured. That's a fair price I think.
