  • Wheel refinishing/polishing?

I'm looking to have my factory wheels refinished and maybe polished. Looking for a place locally to do it. Any suggestions?

Detroit wheel and tire. Plan to spend about $500. I could save you a few bucks if you decide to pull the trigger

Ye Ole Wheel Shop isn't local but I've never heard a bad story about them. Roughly $135 a wheel plus shipping.

I was thinking the same for mine, but repolishing isn't cheap. I can buy a new set for $700 I'll slowly polish mine or get them powder coated

I went into the one at 10 and Ryan when I walked home from the trans shop last week. The guy I talked to was really nice and knowledgeable said he would do a set very fairly priced but he didnt really mention numbers. He showed me around and some of the sets of wheels he was working on, looks really good. The building looks empty (besides the large amount of wheels in the windows, lol) and I believe its even for sale. However he is still in there and still working. I havent seen the shop at 14 mile yet...

Thanks Brian! I have some suspension stuff in the works, afterwards I will need an alignment. I was planning on new tires and a super clean set of original wheels. I think mine are nice enough for refinishing. I have one that has some very minor curb damage, but I don't think that will be a problem. I'll let you know when I am ready to go. Any idea how long it will take to have them done?

~450 but I would need to make a call to confirm.

Most local chrome shops will not touch wheels, they also have a process call perma chrome (PVD) that looks like chrome but it is not chrome. The turn around is a few weeks but they are selective because they somtimes do not get good results with wheels that were made ina 80s-90s because of the poor quality metal.

To refinish the wheels your looking at a few days.

                        450 isn't bad at all 113 a wheel

Well, I was all set to go on getting my factory RS wheels refinished. I noticed one of my rears has a pretty nasty bend in it. So for now I'm looking for a clean driver quality wheel worthy of refinishing. Thanks again to everyone that replied to this thread.

Has anyone ever used third gen ranch's polishing service?
