  • 91 Camaro RS dash speaker size?

What size speaker will fit my dash? Crutchfield is offering a 4 inch round or a 4x6. Which one is the right one for the car?

Thanks Darren! Your always there for me man! haha! I think I remember my 89 having the round ones. My girlfriend bought me new 6x9's for my Birthday and my dash speakers are blown.

I like to think that I know thirdgens pretty well, and as a matter a fact I am shopping for new speakers for mine right now as well.

nice, I have a newer set of Kenwood 6x9's for the rear of mine, I think I am going to go with some Kenwood 4x6's as well, but looking at options. I dont want a poor sounding radio, but its hard to get decent sound out of a 4x6. I am still toying with the idea of cutting some things and putting a bigger round speaker in there.

If you really want to set a nice stage, run some nice 4" rounds (using 4"x6" to 4" adapter plate) in the dash and get the Q Logic kick panels (QL-K1002) for the 6.5/2 component setup. I'd run this in a heartbeat if I didn't have a convertible...I have a full Eclipse sound system and it still won't sound all the great when I'm done

I just ordered Kenwood 4x6's from Crutchfield. $70, not bad. Back in the day I had an Escort EXP with 4x6's in the rear, They sounded horrible! The guy that did my window tint said that if I dynamat and foam the area where my 6x9's are that I can get some decent bass out of them. Not sure if I'm willing to go that far for a little bass though. I would like to try to avoid putting a sub in the back if possible.

Yeah Michael I was checking out some of the kick panel stuff.. Some of it is pretty nice! I think my heart is set on some firebird cup holders for the door. I'm not sure if everything will fit.

I think the ones that I just ordered are the step down from what you have. Should be here by Friday. Hope they sound good!

For the average person they will sound great, an improvement over stock for sure. People like myself try to avoid any oval speakers when possible
