  • 3rd gen t-56 swap near Muskegon - want to see yours please

I'm planning on doing a T56 swap on a 1989 Formula 'Bird that had a T-5. Looking for someone in W. Michigan that did the swap that would be willing to let me look at what they did.

I've always preferred looking at the real thing over pictures. PM me if you'd be willing to let me look at your trans install. I'm located about 10 min. from Muskegon.

It's a pretty straight forward install actually. Cut the shifter hole 2" farther back then get a crossmeber for the the t56 into your car.

I have a whole swap for sale including flywheel and clutch.

I will be in Spring Lake in about a hour if you want to look at my T56 swap. I am headed to Joes junk yard to get some sensors and look around today. If they are open that is.

I'm picking up a trans (complete) but not sure about the torque arm installation. Do you use the T-5 torque arm as is, use a 700R4 as is, or have to modify either one, no matter what?

The 'bird with the missing 5-speed needed too much other work (including an engine), so I went with the Red T-Top Formula Firebird with a good 700R4 and a bad motor. Bought a good 350 TPI from a Z-28 that I'm swapping this weekend. Hope to get it on the road soon.
