My hood opened up due to an apparent latch failure at 55mph on Gratiot only a couple miles away from home. The hood is toast along with the hood latches. The area where the hood latch actually bolts on to the top of each fender is torn, therefore I will need to find some new fenders along with a hood. Scared the crap out of me. After getting over the fact of it actually happening, I started finding replacement parts. Well looking them up on the internet anyways. Haven't bought anything yet, so I'm just still looking. I would like to get either a Cowl style or Ram Air style hood along with fenders. Unfortunately I currently have no job, so I don't know how quickly I will be able to fix her up again. Now is the time where I wish I worked at a body shop.

Be glad you were not hurt. It could if been worse. I'm surprised it didn't take out the windshield and roof!

Luckily I didn't get hurt at all, just scared me a bit at the initial incident. I was worried more about my car than my own safety at that point. I had to look out the window to see where I was going to get to the shoulder. Just the fenders and hood need replacing. well and my rear view mirror needs to be reglued into place. I just fixed the mirror about a day before the hood knocked it off again. Lol.

$100 for the hinges and hood sounds pretty good. I'm not looking for perfection when buying a used hood. I did take an auto collision/repair class and my dads work has a paint shop If i need to repair anything on the hood. If you wouldn't mind, could you get me a pic? Thanks.

Car wasnt hit in the front. The nose just wasnt attached.

Ya my t tops were off and I was surprised the windshield was still alive. It should have been worse than it was. I'm glad i wasn't going 75 on the highway or something.

if you want to make a deal pm'ing me is alot easier. Im avalible thersday from 2-4 or all day friday.. Some other guy called today and wanted the hood and some other stuff, and was planning to come out friday. Iv had so many people say they are intersted and no one calls back so I cant hold it for anyone. But If you call me tommarow or something Im sure we can work something out.

Due to the fact my father gets paid once a month we would have to wait till next Friday as long as there is no issues. I still have great interest in the hood because you are so close and we have a vehicle to pick it up. But if you sell it ahead of when we can work something out, I wont take it the wrong way. If that happens then I'll get an aftermarket hood or something.
