the point is they have already broke that barrier and the motor just came out. back in 98-99 making 400rwhp with an LS motor was crazy. The LS3 doesn't really compare, they have had the LS series for much longer and how many more cubes are they than a 5.0 coyote? you post about guys making 1200rwhp with TPI cars has nothing to do with this debate.Doing less with more

You are rite that was a bit over kill it was turbo charged also . I see the cubeic inch thing as well . They did well on that moter . But that engine make more power than they said I mean Damn they make 375/380 rwhp and the car is pretty lite at that power level out of the box its not hard to get 500 with cams and head work and headers and exhaust and good tuning.sigpic1997 firehawk # 115 6 speed. And if you read my other post the reason that these guys are going so fast is becouse ford and the aftermarket comanys are makeing performance parts before the cars are comeing out and they already have tunning for them as well all about the tecnoligy that we have today and when a auto manufactur. I laugh at Ford. Ford has to build a DOHC engine to compete with GM OHV engines. The LT5 made what 405 hp in 93 - 95. A 03 - 04 Cobra supercharger DOHC 4.6 Mod motor made like 430 hp roughly. Yes the LT5 has 61 more cubes going for it but the 4.6 DOHC is supercharged and was developed 10 years later. Even compare a LS1 to a 4.6 DOHC. LS1 = 345hp 4.6 DOHC = at most (excluding the Cobra) 320hp. Chevy can build motors. My LT1 gets better gas mileage then my buddys 4.6 SOHC did. Can't really compare a LT5 to the cobra - the lt5 was rated under the old system, and the cobra the new system. Both cars perform about the same in the quarter 112mph+/- a few and the vette is an ass ton lighter. The coyote engine is a nice piece - ford finally nailed it, and most f-body owners should be aware of it's potential, as it'll destroy a lot of modded lt/ls cars - stock.2000 Formula
