Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Has anyone upgraded their alternator on a 3rd gen car? When my lights are on and I'm idling at a stop light, the blinkers slow down and that bugs me. I assume all I need is a larger amp alternator - am I right? Has anyone fixed this issue?
do you have a big amp drawing alot of current? if so do you have a capacitor on it? when at idle turn off amp if flashers speeds up you need a bigger altenator.

Yeah what the heck are you running drawing so much power? if its a amp like Larry mentioned get a capacitor I had one with my system and it worked great... If not then yes you need a bigger alternator.
I thought the speed of the blinker was regulated by the blinker module. You could replace that for like $10 and it will change the speed. Good luck and keep us updated on the alternator upgrade. I am looking for some ideas too.
IIRC third gens came with a 105A Alt you can upgrade to a 140 off another car (as long as the plugs match) simply bu swapping the faceplate and possibly pulley
Could be just a bad headlight switch. If your instrument lights & your headlights dim every time your turn signal blinks, then you'd have a charging issue (ie. alternator)
