  • New Tail Lights

got my tail lights the other day and tossed them in... im happy with them great shape for a 25 year old tail light way better then the ones i had... still have to toss the new locks in it but i did a trade with a guy on TGO for my old stock shifter handle for a set of locks so im in good shape just waiting on the center console to come in and then im getting the windows tinted and alarm put in... then.. lol the stereo equipment will go back in so its on track might just be a couple more weeks...

heres some pics old and new lights just need to add some more foam washers to the center to even it out but looks pretty good... what a pain to find though only made for 2 years and only the TA and a few others came with the factory tinted lights

well i finnaly got the insurance to give me money which was a big part of it... they try giving me oem prices for a 25 year old car... i had to show them that you cant even buy it oem anymore...and any part is a custom servie order part costing almost 3 times the oem price... and then the quote they gave me for labor prices was a joke... im doing the work myself but still they shouldnt assume that or assume i can get it done for 25 bucks an hour labor... so its working out just pisses me off i was pretty much set to drive the rest of this summer just needed a good cleaning and a better tune and now im back to this... so if im lucky ill get it out for the fall a little bit..

ya they are hard to find though only a 82 83 84 tail light and even then most were red as apposed to the tinted... if they are in good shape you should keep them... they dont really look that great on the newer style but still you could get some bucks for them... i lucked out and got these for 45 bucks thats only because the way the guy listed the lights it was hard to find them, and i bid at the last possibal minute 25 bucks for shipping so 20 bucks for the lights... but the other 3 sets on ebay at the time were about 150 or more... and they wernt in half as good of shape as these ones.. so i got a deal

mine look like crap cause the early 81-82 tail lights were painted with tint spray were these ones are acctually tinted plastic.. late 82 is what they say

lol you know i thought about it when i first bought the car... they have a complete "KITT" kit... for like 5 grand thats a new dash center console front bumper interior monitors lights everything to make a replica, but i sold my old 14 inch bowling ball wheels and the 15 inch ones are expensive because of the KITT freaks and its not t-top but still if i did do it then sell it on ebay germany ive seen some replicas go for almost 50 grand.. they love david hasselhoff way to much over there... maybe if i found another 82 with t-tops i could do it for shits and giggles

yeah those KITT kits are pretty expensive. I kind of want to make my car into the "Bandit" car. But that too is a T-Top, and my roof has a big hole in it.
